Art Direction
For the 2023 Sun Bowl, we wanted to capture the essence of Notre Dame, staying on brand and protecting the brand as much as possible, while pushing the limits of what the brand could be. The Sun Bowl, is based in El Paso, TX, home of a rich mining tradition in the area. That being our base inspiration, we wanted to bring energy and excitement to the package. We also, wanted to imply we were "taking over" El Paso. What better way to connect the dots than with a theme of "GOLD RUSH"
Photoshoots
For our photos shoots we wanted put priority on the grounding element of the Notre Dame brand, the Helmets. We wanted to make sure they had a sleek clean and smooth look. (Trust me, these helmets are tough to shoot). To do this, we structured a large scrim over head with lights shooting down to create a broad soft light. We then added lights around the subject to highlight the player with rim lights and a soft key light. Oh, and we added a fun prop to our shoot to help tie into the graphics package!
